After 40 years of extensive restoration, the reconstruction of the Dresden Residenzschloss reaches its festive conclusion with the halls in the north wing. The reconstructed room architecture dates back to remodelling work in the mid-19th century and will become part of the tour on the parade floor in 2026. The Dresden State Art Collections will present high-ranking works of art from the armoury.
Lindner GFT took charge of installing a modern NORIT underfloor heating system in these halls. Particularly in the grand Propositions Hall, known for its stunning wood panelling, the underfloor heating provides a practical, heritage-appropriate solution, while the radiant heat ensures the perfect room climate. With a build-up height of only 33 mm, the NORIT-TE 30 Therm GF heating system used, combined with a high-quality surface finish, integrates seamlessly into the original aesthetic of the halls.
Delivering the flooring panels presented a unique logistical challenge. Due to the limited load-bearing capacity of the historic building, the pallets had to be halved and brought in through the window using a crane. Despite these demanding conditions, the heating system was installed without damaging the historical structure.
