With the construction of the new Evangelical Nursery Sternwarte in Würzburg, a modern childcare centre has been created, offering space for 24 crèche and 50 kindergarten children. As the first municipal building constructed to the “Würzburg Energy Standard”, the project sets a benchmark for forward-looking construction – energy-efficient, ecologically considered and architecturally harmonised with its surroundings. Special attention was given to preserving the existing trees on the site, which were carefully integrated into the design.
Lindner GFT made a key contribution to meeting the building’s energy and functional requirements through its work on the floor structure and surface heating systems. As part of the interior fit-out, a bound fill was first installed to create a level, thermally insulating surface characterised by high compressive strength, non-combustibility and excellent pumpability. This solution enables precise height compensation and provides the ideal base for subsequent installations.
Building upon this foundation, the NORIT-TE 30 Therm GF underfloor heating system was laid – a system with a low build-up height and excellent acoustic insulation properties. Thanks to its low flow temperatures, it supports the building’s sustainable low-tech approach while ensuring pleasant, evenly distributed warmth – an essential factor for the daily comfort of children and staff alike.
